Shore Friendly Beach Walk - Cline Spit
The Shore Friendly program of the Northwest Straits Foundation, partners from Clallam County Marine Resource Committee, and coastal professionals from Herrera Environmental are hosting a FREE guided beach walk for community residents located near Cline Spit in Clallam County.
Join us with our guest speaker Jonathan Waggoner, Coastal and Restoration Engineer.
We’ll delve into the local geology, ecology, and vegetation that shape and sustain the shoreline, as well as the effects of shoreline armoring and the forces—both natural and human-made—that influence coastal change. With sea level rise becoming an increasing concern, we’ll also cover adaptation planning strategies to help communities and property owners prepare for the future. Additionally, we’ll highlight the technical and financial resources available to shoreline homeowners who are interested in sustainable shoreline management and restoration. This walk is a great opportunity to learn from experts, ask questions, and connect with others about preserving our shorelines.
Beach Walk: 9:00 - 11:00am
