Shore Friendly Contractor Workshop
The Shore Friendly program of the Northwest Straits Foundation and partners from Whatcom and Skagit County are hosting a FREE workshop for landscape professionals, arborists, drainage specialists, excavation services, and contractors working on marine shoreline properties.
International Society of Arboriculture Continuing Education credits (ISA CEUs) will be available for qualified professionals. Lunch will be provided. Participation reimbursements are available to those who qualify.
Join us for presentations from local and regional experts including guest speakers John Bornsworth of Peninsula Environmental Group, Rob Whitlam of DAHP, and local shoreline planners.
Workshop topics include shoreline specific approaches to:
- Local Geology, Ecology, and Vegetation
- Understanding Shoreline Armoring
- Pruning, Planting, and Weed Control
- Local Rules and Permitting
- Hydrology and Bluff Drainage Solutions
- Cultural Resources
